Worth The Hype?

EOS lip-balms are very popular on YouTube and blogs. However are they really worth the hype? In this blog-post i share with you my thoughts on the EOS lip-balms.
The main reason why everyone loves these lip-balms is because the packaging and the shape of the balm is just so cute! I do think the rounded shape of the balm makes it quicker and easier to apply, great for on the go.
As for the formulation, its nothing special. Just a regular lip-balm, it is moisturizing don't get me wrong but there's nothing special about the formula.
As for the scent. They do a range of different ones, they are quite artificial smells but i don't really mind because i actually love the smell of them regardless of wherever they smell 'realistic' or not.
My favorite EOS lip-balm out of all the ones i own it this one 'honeysuckle'. Its my favorite scent out of them all and i also really love the color!
So the big question: 'is it worth the hype?' this is tricky because although i love the packaging and want to collect them all (lol) they are nothing special, so i would have to say no. Let me know if you think the EOS lip-balms are worth the hype?

My Spring Picks

Since spring is on its way i thought i would show you all the makeup I'm looking forward to wearing during spring time in the upcoming months.
Starting off with base, i haven't had much opportunity to try out the Maybelline BB cream, i purchased this when spring had long gone at the beginning of September. Its had a lot of hype and I've only used it a couple of times and so far i really like it. Very natural and light on the skin which i think will be perfect for spring when the weather gets a little hotter and you don't want to cake a load of products on your face!
I love giving my face a slight glow,  it makes you look a lot healthier. High Beam by benefit is a perfect highlighter not too pink and not too white, they got the color and pigmentation spot on.
Cream products are a essential during spring and summer! I love TopShop cream blushers, this one is a nice coral, in the color 'head over heels'. I also love cream eye-shadows, most of the ones i own are fairly dark and shimmering, i haven't used this one from ELF very much in the color 'candlelight' i think it will give a very natural but pretty shimmer on the eyes great for spring when you don't want to pile on the eye makeup!
Speaking of eyes, the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette (the left hand side) is great for spring, the pinky peachy rose gold colors are really glowy and shimmery, you can create a natural or dramatic look out of them (whatever floats your boat!). A cheaper alternative which i also love is a bourjois eye-shadow (sorry don't know the color) its a very glittery pink, quite out of my comfort zone but placed all over the lid with some mascara it looks gorgeous!
On to lips! TopShop are one of my favorite brands of lipsticks, i haven't yet worn this bright redy orange in the color 'infrared', but i can't wait, i think it will look beautiful with a natural eye and face makeup and then a pop of color at the lips. Whilst on the subject of lipsticks, this natural pastel pink in the color 'secret admirer' is a great everyday color, just slap it on and your good to go! I'm not a huge fan of shimmering glosses, this natural collection one in 'fondant' is a very natural pinky peach, not shimmering at all, it just gives a slight shine. And last but not least the Maybelline baby lips in 'pink punch', these have had a lot of rave about and for a lip-balm this gives great color payoff, as well as moisturizing your lips.

Those were my spring picks, let me know your spring must haves in the comments and thank you for reading.

The 'Famous' Baby Lips

The maybelline baby lips have had a lot of hype. For the few of you who haven't yet purchased the 'famous' lip-balm i thought id do a review. Instead of babbling on about all the baby lips, I'm going to share with you my thoughts on all the tinted balms and one of the clear balms (my fav one).
Starting off with 'hydration', this is a clear lip-balm, it smells amazing and like all the baby lips is really moisturizing!
Onto my favorite tinted one, 'peach kiss', again it smells great and moisturizes well however it gives a nice peachy color on the lips, i love this when I'm wearing quite dramatic eyes and want to finish it off with a nude lip.
Next up is 'cherry me', this is a redy cherry color (surprise, surprise),the swatch doesn't do it justice but it has great color pay-off, perfect for all seasons!
'Pink punch' appears to be most peoples fav, however it is my least favorite, it again has fab pigmentation but i find the color quite hard to wear, maybe in spring and summer i'll get more use out of it.
Overall i do love baby lips however i think they are over hyped, but i guess they are a nice thing to collect and a good addition to your makeup collection. Let me know your favorite baby lips in the comments.

Palettes, Palettes + PALETTES!

Recently I've seen the 'Perfect Palette Tag' going around YouTube, i really liked the tag so i was inspired to create a blog post based on it.
 Q1. Best Packaging?
Quite a hard choice for me because most of my palettes don't have anything exciting about the appearance of them so i ended up choosing the most particle, which was the Sleek palette in 'storm', it comes with 12 eye-shadows the same amount as the Urban Decay Naked palettes, Sleek compared to Urban Decay have managed to condense the size of the palettes so its nice, small, compact  and has a big mirror.
Q2. Best Color Pay Off?
This was a very easy question to answer, Urban Decay eye-shadows have amazing pigmentation and the eye-shadows are really velvety and good quality.
  Q3. Most Versatile?
The MAC 'build your own' palettes are fairly expensive to put together so that you have a complete set, as you can see I've just started 'building' mine. However expensive they are, they are very versatile because you can pick and choose any eye-shadow you want to go in the palette, plus they do quads too.
Q3. Best For Travel?
I choose the Urban Decay Naked Basics not only the packaging but also the eye-shadow shades are great for travelling because you can do a natural look or a smoky eye, it comes with 5 matte shades and 1 shimmer.
 Q5. Biggest Regret?
Hands down this was the biggest palette regret, i purchased the Avon 'the nudes' palette and i have no idea why, i own enough nude palettes and there is nothing special about this one.
Q6. Best Color Names?
I don't own many palettes with color names so i didn't have a wide selection to choose from, i ended up settling for the too faced shadow insurance palette, which comes with their 6 best selling eye-shadows, the names are quite cute, here are a few of my favs: green=lucky charms, pink=boy toys, blue=skinny dip.
Q7. Least used?
Without a doubt my least used palette was the GOSH palette, it comes with 22 eye-shadow colors, and i have never used it! The farist I've gotten is swatching, lol.
Q8. Most Used, Most Loved, Desert Island?
I love all the Urban Decay Naked palettes and even though the Naked 1 suits blue eyes the best, its my favorite, its such a wearable palette and right up my alley!

Thank you for reading this post let me know your favorite palette in the comments.
